One sheet, no scissors, no glue. Just folds.
The crane in Japan
The crane — orizuru — is the most symbolic figure in origami.
It represents longevity, loyalty, healing.
That's why senbazuru exists: the practice of folding a thousand cranes to carry a deep wish. Health for someone you love. Peace after a loss. An inner transformation.
The most well-known story is that of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who folded cranes while living with leukemia. Her community finished the thousand for her.
Since then, the crane has been a symbol of peace. And of the persistence that makes peace possible.
Why the crane in Mend
We didn't choose the crane for the legend.
We chose it for what happens while you fold it.
Each fold requires attention. You can't rush it. You can't fold it while thinking about something else.
It's exactly the same as caring for a relationship.
